Map 722 The Stations of the Cross v The Directions of the Bagua

Stations of the Cross

On a recent visit to the Cathedral at Liverpool known as Paddy’s wigwam I saw this image of the Stations of the Cross and couldn’t help thinking perhaps the stations are just the angles the cross is at as it moves around a circle. I drew the stations as a Bagua of eight directions around a centre and up popped a ships steering wheel. The image is also like the friends in a circle candle holder currently on sale. Finally I could also see the similarity with this yew tree hedge in a country garden.

The stations of the cross or the turning of the cross as it moves around a circle. The top image also looks rather like the sort of set of keys you might find used in a monastery. All fascinating  in their own way.

Another potential is a group of sky divers !
