Mary Magdalene Patron Saint of Perfume

Mary Magdalene

Mary is Patron Saint of Perfumes...she created an amber coloured oil from a plant called Spikenard which appears on the current Pope Francis's Coat of Arms. She is known as the Myrrh bearer. Magdala means elegant, great, tower, it is also a prosperous fishing village by the Sea of Galilee the birthplace of Mary in Israel. Mary represents the feminine energy.

The amygdala is the position in the brain that is said to store emotions from past experiences which may have proved difficult, dangerous or emotive to us. It can trigger in us that fight or flight response when past traumas, memories, feelings come flooding back causing us to react. This is an area that needs healing. The feminine part of the brain is all about love, nurturing, caring, compassion, empathy, tenderness and kindness. The Amygdala helps us to experience religious rapture one moment and dread of the unknown the next. There is duality in the Amygdala. When functioning well the brain becomes healed, love and light radiate in abundance our emotional intelligence is in full operational mode, when its not all hell breaks loose. Said to be the feminine portal to the third eye found at the back of the brain. Oils such as rose, frankincense and myrrh help to stimulate and sooth the amygdala, feminine skills to create calm. Everything has a musical connotation and perfume is no different it is said to have top notes and base notes in its production. Could it be the vibration of the musical note of the perfumes or oils Mary used on Jesus that created her Religious Rapture.

We must learn to stay balanced when feelings with memories flood us they are of the past and we must stay grounded in the present before responding in the here and now and not from past memories. That's not to say past memories are not trying to keep us safe, just be aware this is a similar situation, not the same one and if you react badly the people in the now have not got a clue what is happening, they were not there the first time you had this experience.

Was the name of Mary Magdalene used to create the word Amygdala – Amigdala..........the flower used in the oils is on the Coat of Arms of the current Pope. High praise indeed all things considered, so thank you Francis for accentuating the feminine. Change the Y for an I and you hide the words Dalai Lama it would appear more people admired Mary Magdalene than we realised. Perhaps we should all grow a little Spikenard in our gardens in appreciated of the feminine. x
