You can see how you could turn it into a cylinder by fixing the two outer verticals together. You can also see the repeating patterns quite easily. I was able to work out that I had one cube coloured wrongly simply because it didn't fit to the pattern. It looks complex but it's simple. If only life could reflect that.
DNA likes to work in steps.
A look at Astrology, Feng Shui, Nine star Ki, I Ching and then finally on to DNA. A look at all of these principles through patterns. These are my thoughts and I can give you no evidence but ask that you accept what you are comfortable with and disregard the rest.

Map 165 I Ching Ribbons of Colour - The Fabric of Life
2 Yellow - 8 Orange - 1 Turquoise - 4 Tree - 3 Tree - 9 Fire - 7 Pink - 6 Silver/Grey
Just another view of the I Ching Hexagrams as ribbons of colour 8 colours vertically and the same 8 colours horizontally and we have the I Ching at its simplest. The Fabric of Life. Can you see the cross appearing in different lengths and widths throughout.
My 1/7 cross has a short left arm and a long right arm. A shorter top and longer bottom.
I wonder if the lengths of alleles has any connection here. For example the 1/7 has a long right arm and a short left arm in the Water Cross.
