The Directions and their effects

The Directions and their Effects

North... years and months situated sitting in the North facing South.

Centred by GCG of 9/9, then follows, 2/6, 3/7, 4/8, 6/1, 7/2, 8/3 and 9/4.

It creates a very square shaped pattern open at 8 and 2 Earth positions. I call this Silence as it is shaped like the silent letter H.

The North is all about Winter, a time for sleep, looking up at the stars and dreaming, whispers of ideas come to you in your dreams, this is the planning stage for the winter and the year ahead and midnight. A time for rest, staying peaceful and calm. You are facing the South which is all about summer, the sun at its highest, its hot, flowers blooming, the rose in flower with her heady perfume, success is assured here if you have done the work required, there is tenderness and an overseer, life is beautiful. Dare to dream you are on cloud 9 after all. Know what sort of plant you would put in the north part of your garden facing South, they do not want to be put in the shade, they are happy to be seen and in full sun, no one puts Baby in the corner. Can become dry/hard from full sun. Whilst Winter is visible in its fragile state, summer is invisible.

South...years and months situation sitting in the South facing North.

Centre by CGC 1/1, then follows, 1/6, 2/7, 3/8, 4/9, 6/2, 7/3 and 8/4.

How would you plant up your garden in the South facing North, plants that flower beautifully but like a little shade on the feet like clematis for example love to grow in this part of the garden. Less Sun on them they are happy to be in the shade but far too pretty to ever be in the shadows. Often damp areas as they are not dried by the sun. Whilst summer is visible in all its glory, winter is invisible.

North East...years and months situated in the North East facing South West.

Centred by CCC 2/2, then follows 1/7, 2/8, 3/9, 4/1, 6/3, 7/4 and 9/6

It creates a pattern I call Solo Man's Temple it forms a six sided star with the horizon line of the Earth through its centre. The above the earth looks like the symbol for the Black Hat Sect.

The North East is a time of changing seasons, winter is just drawing to a close but spring has yet to begin, it is that time just before dawn when the birds are singing their song and waking up the world, something is stirring underground and about to burst forth, there is a sense of excitement that spring is soon coming, snowdrops come forth to tell us its time, there is clarity of mind here, as though standing on a snow capped mountain the air is crisp and clean and you know what you must do, make plans now for the future. You are facing the South West which is a changing season energy, summer is drawing to a close and Autumn has yet to arrive, its mid afternoon, a warm day, you might feel like a snooze, or to swing in a hammock in your garden, everything feels near perfect. The harvest is just about to come in. Planting the area in the North East which is facing South West is ideal as it gets sun for a lot of the day and evening. Most things are happy growing here. Of course if we take it too literally we are on top of a snow capped mountain so perhaps we should nurture a love of Alpines too.

South West sitting position facing North East...

Centred by CCG 8/8, then follows, 1/4, 3/6, 4/7, 6/9, 7/1, 8/2 and 9/3.

This area can be more tricky to plant up as the North East does not get light for that much of the day, so it might be a good place for a sitting area if you want to stay out of the sun in summer, or for compost bins, the garage. If you want to plant it up then ivy's particular the crimsons would look good, Daphne is a shrub that is shade tolerant and many woodland bulbs would be happy here. Landscaping with stone, or a shed, would also be a good option.

Sitting in the East facing West...

Centred by GGC 7/7, then follows 1/3, 2/4, 4/6, 6/8, 7/9, 8/1 and 9/2.

It creates a pattern I call Zorro because it has a Z shape to it. Zorro Defends the people of the land against other villains.

The East is all about promise for the future, new green shoots springing forth, the shock of the new, it is dawn or early morning, a time of growth,
the earth becomes green again, excitement is in the air. Plant those seeds if you want your plans to come to fruition. Just because you are looking to the West end does not mean you should shop until your plans have paid off. Sitting in the west can mean its fun time, now you can shop till you drop you have earned that money, its family time, fun time, tea time in the home, the harvest is in, now you can relax a little, time to enjoy your success. Too much partying on the other hand.....Planting this area would be relatively easy to do as most plants will thrive here with plenty of afternoon and early evening sunlight. Whilst spring is here the light of day and night is equal.

Sitting in the West facing East...

Centred by GCC 3/3... then follows, 1/8, 2/9, 3/1, 4/2, 6/4, 8/6 and 9/7.

Just because you are looking to the West end does not mean you should shop until your plans have paid off. Early risers for the sun is here early in the morning till before midday, some gentle plants don't like the sun on them after a night frost such as camellias so be aware of this and plant for early morning light. Whilst Autumn is here the light of both day and night is equal.

South East facing North West...

Centred by GGG 6/6... then follows, 1/2, 2/3, 3/4, 6/7, 7/8, 8/9 and 9/1.

It creates a pattern I call Ziggy Zig Aah.....it is also sometimes Saturn's Sigil. Money makes the world go around.

Sitting in the South East, this is the area of the growth of Wealth and Prosperity, sees expansion, it is another changing seasons so can be unpredictable, it is mid morning, or just before summer but not quite finished with spring, everything is beginning to blossom, the soil is warming up nicely and growth from the underground workers can get under way. You are facing the North West where the seasons are changing from Autumn to Winter but we are not quite there yet, it is late evening and time to tidy up and prepare for morning, a time of order, this is a time for putting everything to bed for the night, or another year. The garden gets late afternoon early evening sun and many more gentle plants like camellia are happier here as the frosts have gone before they get the sun on them.

Sitting in the North West facing South East...centred on 4/4, then follows, 1/9, 2/1, 3/2, 4/3, 7/6, 8/7 and 9/8.

Sitting in the North West facing South East again the seasons are changing from Autumn to Winter but we are not quite there yet, it is late evening and time to tidy up and prepare for morning, a time of order, this is a time for putting everything to bed for the night, or another year. A good spot for catching the sun mid morning to early afternoon, most plants could thrive here.

You can see above that with the exception of the doubles as these numbers move in on the arms of the winds and fall into the centre they will cancel each other out and they will fall into the centre or zero point and nothing will remain. 1 and 9 are complimentary opposites but do not cancel each other out.

Conclusion on observations ... the double remain around the edge of the zero point but all other codons cancel themselves out as they pass through the centre. They are matching to their Nine Star Ki numbers reversed and not to their partner in the Hexagrams. There are no exceptions. They all conform to this pattern.
