We see from the image above we need a centre piece of which only one appears in the jigsaw no matter how big it becomes. Then we have a jigsaw piece.......all numbers are the same shape just turning the jigsaw piece in another direction makes it another number. 1 & 8 both push up south and out to the east, 3 & 4 push up South and out to the West, 2 & 9 push down to the North and out to the West and 6 & 7 push down North and out to the East. So only two parts are required to make everything in the jigsaw possible.
If we flip the part for centre it does not change.......if we flip the SE part once vertically we can make it into a NE part one more flip horizontally and you have NW and one more vertical flip and you have a SW part. Two parts, with two potential flips both vertical and horizontal and you can make anything.
This is the Bagua with number 1 at its centre displaying only two shapes in 81 parts. x
