We see here todays version of 34 triangles of DNA which creates all 64 codons of DNA when read in any direction. You can add at any point so long as it does not create a repeat in the pattern. The black dots here are where no further triangles can be added without creating repeats of the pattern. This set has 12 triangles in each colour which is 40 and as only 34 are needed for this pattern there are 6 remaining shown in the top left hand corner. Enjoy your thinking. X
